Using the Player with
the Car Battery Cord
Connect the player to the cigarette lighter
socket using the supplied car battery cord.
(For the area code HK3, E18, MX2, E33, and
AU4 models. You will fi nd the area code of
the model you purchased at the upper left side
of the bar code on the package.)

Notes
• Route the cords so that they will not interfere with
driver.
• Do not install the player where viewable by the
driver.
• Some states restrict the use of monitors and
televisions in vehicles. Where use is permitted, the
units should not be installed or operated so as to
be viewable by the driver.

If this cord is not working properly, check to
see if the fuse has blown out.
If the fuse has blown out, replace it in the
following way.
1 Pull the cigarette lighter plug out of the
cigarette lighter socket.
2 Detach the end of the plug by turning it
counter clockwise.
3 Replace the fuse with a new one.
4 Reattach the end of the plug by turning it
clockwise fi rmly.
Notes
• To replace the fuse on the car battery cord, be sure
to use a fuse with the correct amperage (3 A, 125
V, length 20 mm).
• When replacing the fuse, do not substitute
anything for the specifi ed fuse.
• If the fuse blows again soon after replacement,
consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Please contact your car dealer about the
polarity that your car is grounded or the
voltage of your car battery, etc.
