DEAR OWNER, In buying a KUHN machine you have chosen wisely. Into it have gone years of thought, research and improvements. You will find, as have thousands of owners all over the world, that you have the best that engineering skill and actual field testing can produce. You have purchased a dependable machine, but only by proper care and operation can you expect to receive the performance and long service built into it.
These recommendations must be made known to all machine operators. DESIGNATED USE OF THE MACHINE The GA 9321 H/P Gyrorake must only be used for the work for which it has been designed : raking on the ground and forming swaths of pre-mowed fodder and straw.

GENERAL SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS Before operating the machine, always ensure that tractor and machine are in accordance with work safety and road traffic regulations. BASIC PRINCIPLES 1. In addition to the recommendations given in this manual, legislation on work safety and accident prevention must also be respected.
Page 6
14. Do not exceed the maximum transport width authorized by road traffic regulations. 15. Before travelling on public roads, ensure that all legally required guards and indicators (lights, reflectors ...) are in place and in good operation. 16. All operating controls (cords, cables, rods...) must be positioned so that they cannot be set off accidently, risking accident or damage.
Page 7
ATTACHMENT 1. When attaching or removing the machine from the tractor, make sure that it cannot move accidentally. (Put wedges under the wheels). 2. When attaching the machine to the tractor hydraulic linkage, ensure that diameter of the link pins corresponds to the diameter of the ball joints.
Page 8
10. Never engage PTO shaft when tractor engine is turned off. 11. Never surpass the PTO angle recommended by the manufacturer. 12. WARNING ! Rotating elements can continue turning momentarily after PTO is disengaged. Keep clear until all rotating elements are at a standstill. 13.

8. Spare parts used must be in accordance with specifications and standards as defined by the manufacturer. Use only genuine KUHN parts ! 9. Before any electric welding is carried out on tractor or attached machine, disconnect generator and battery terminals.
SAFETY DECALS The following safety pictorials have been placed on your machine in the areas indicated. They are intented for your personal safety and for the safety of the people working with you. The text shown on them gives their precise meaning. Keep the pictorials clean. Replace them when they are faded.
Braking system controlled pneumatically or hydraulically Special features : - In transport position, the GA 9321 H/P guards are folded and 10 tine arms disconnected, which reduces considerably the machine height. - The GA 9321 H/P rear wheels are steered from the headstock by means of a steering linkage.
TRACTOR ADAPTATION 1) FITTING TO THE TRACTOR The GA 9321 H/P can be fitted to all tractors with a standard three-point linkage Cat.2 or 3 and an engine rating ranging 74 kW (100hp). The swivel hitch is equipped with two attachment yokes (1) to be connected to the tractor’s lower links(2) (photo 1).
2) PTO TRANSMISSION SHAFT WITH CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINTS Connect the PTO shaft to the 540 rpm (min ) tractor drive (outer guard tube on the machine side). Make sure PTO length is correct : 1) When the PTO is in its maximum extended position, a minimum tube overlap of 300 mm (12") must be maintained. 2) When the PTO is in its maximum overlap position (retracted), tubes must not butt against the yokes.
Make sure there is nobody in the machine operating area before lowering the rotors into their work position. To switch the GA 9321 H/P from the transport position to the work position, proceed as follows : Open hydraulic cylinder lock valves Activate tractor’s hydraulic valve to lower the rotors.
Rotor height adjustment range modification Shifting the rotors to place the machine in straw position : The straw position increases the raking height by 40 mm. To make this adjustment, place the machine on level ground. Before carrying out any operation on the machine, stop the tractor engine, remove ignition key and wait for rotating parts to...

Place spacer (7) inside the undercarriage and tighten two screws M10(6) (make sure spacer holes are in line with undercarriage holes so that the 4 screws used to fix the hub can be reinstalled). Make sure there is nobody in the rotor pivoting area before placing the rotor onto the undercarriage.
Machine use The GA 9321 H/P must not be operated with a PTO speed greater than 540 rpm (see drawing 7 page 21) The GA 9321 H/P is a machine designed for large fields. It forms a central swath of adjustable width.
Never let the rotor rotate when the machine is in transport position in order to prevent risks of accident. Never transport the GA 9321 H/P at more than 25 KM/H (16 MPH). To fold the machine into transport position (photo 12), proceed as follows : Use handles (4) to unlock guards (5) (photo 9) and fold them to the inside (see arrows, photo 8).
PARKING THE MACHINE The GA 9321 H/P is fitted with a parking stand (1) for parking the machine on the ground when in working or transport position. To park the machine, proceed as follows : Pull lock handle (2) to free parking stand (1). Pivot parking stand (1) downwards until its lock automatically engages (photo 15).
All grease points are marked with the following sticker : All GA 9321 H/P grease points are indicated by an arrow on photos 17 to 23. For good machine operation, grease all grease points with SHELL multi-purpose grease NLGI Grade 2 at...
The brake cylinder stoke must not exceed 40 mm. If the stroke is too important, the braking system must be adjusted by an authorised Kuhn dealer. Hydraulic brake adjustement : check the brake cylinder stroke after 20 hours of use, then every 80 hours of use.
OPTIONAL ACCESSORY 1° CHECK CHAIN KIT (No. 108 6530) (photo 25) These chains may be recommended when operating with certain tractors with older style hydraulics which would not allow a steady swivel head ground clearance to be maintained during work. They also help prevent the PTO shaft from bottoming out should the lift linkage be lowered accidentally.
