8.14 Drilling
When drilling into a hard smooth surface, use a center punch to mark the
desired hole location. This will prevent the drill bit from slipping off center
as the hole is started. Hold the drill / driver firmly and place the tip of
the bit at the point to be drilled. Press the forward touch pad to activate
forward mode on the drill / driver. Move the drill bit into the workpiece,
applying only enough pressure to keep the bit cutting. Do not force or
apply side pressure to elongate a hole.
To activate the drilling function (For drilling metal, wood, or plastic), turn
the torque adjustment ring (2) to the drill setting by aligning the drill
symbol with the triangle in front of the torque adjustment ring.
8.15 Overload protection
When in overload condition, the motor will come to a stop. Reduce the
load on the machine immediately and allow to cool for approx. 30 seconds
at the highest no-load speed.
8.16 Temperature dependent overload protection
When using the tool as intended it cannot be subject to overload. When
the load is too high or the allowable battery temperature of 75°C is
exceeded, the electronic control switches off the drill / driver until the
temperature is in the optimum temperature range again.
8.17 Protection against discharging
The Li-ion battery is protected against discharging by the "Discharging
Protection System". When the battery has no charge, the drill / driver is
switched off by means of the protective circuit: The inserted drill bit will
no longer rotates/ operate
