Annual Maintenance

The PureWave UPS System must be disabled, placed in the Bypass Isolate state, and
be de-energized before performing maintenance on the equipment . Failure to do so can
result in serious injury or even death .
Maintenance should only be conducted by S&C Electric Company personnel or
personnel who are properly trained by S&C Electric Company.
Preparation
q Review the steps in this procedure to prepare the proper tools and test equipment that
will be needed to complete the tasks.
q Bring site-specific schematics and familiarize yourself with when and how you will isolate
the circuits during the maintenance.
q Coordinate with the site facilitator to obtain keys for locks (if applicable) to unlock the
doors to the PureWave UPS System enclosure(s).
q Confirm with the site facilitator that the PureWave UPS System is de-energized.

q Shop vacuum
q Rags or paper towels
q General purpose cleaner (e.g. Simple Green)
q Personal protective equipment
q Insulated torque wrench
q Standard assorted insulated hand tools (wrench, flat-head screwdriver, etc.)
q DAP concrete sealant
q PureWave UPS enclosure touch-up paint
q Lock-out/Tag-out tags and locks
q Calibrated Hioki 16 Channel Digital Waveform Recorder or oscilloscope
q Two calibrated Fluke 87 digital multimeters
