Loosen adjusting screws 3 on
8
left and right by turning coun-
terclockwise.

Push wheel as far forward as
possible and remove chain
from chain sprocket 4.
Remove quick-release axle 5,
supporting rear wheel as you
do so.
Roll rear wheel out of swinging
arm toward rear while holding
brake caliper on anti-clockwise
side in place.
The chain sprocket and
the spacer sleeves on the
left and right are loosely inserted
in the wheel. When removing,
make sure that these parts are
not damaged or lost.
Installing rear wheel
Threaded fasteners not
tightened to the specified
torque can work loose or their
threads can suffer damage.
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a specialized
workshop, preferably an
authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Make sure that brake caliper
runs in guide 6.
Roll rear wheel into swinging
arm while guiding brake disk
between brake pads.
