  • Page 4 Disassembly of Nylon Cord Assembly for ER2600L Unscrew 2 CROSSRECESS BOLT M6X30 (115). Insert the pin to the hole to prevent the Nylon cord assembly from rotating. Rotate the Nylon cord assembly counter clockwise to take it out. Insert the slotted screw driver and take out the BODY CAP (139). Now there appears Reel (137) with NYLON LINE PA66 ORANGE 2.6MX2(138), WASHER 39.5X27.2X0.8 (133), SPRING (134) and WASHER 39.5X27.2X0.8 (135).
  • Page 5 Disassembly Procedure Unscrew 2 CROSSRECESS BOLTS M6X30 (115) and SOCKET HEAD BOLT M5X12 (116). Using 1R311 (Retaining ring pliers with long bent nails), take out the INNER SNAP RING (120).Wrap the paper around the bearing case (127) as illustrated below. Using water pump pliers, turn the BEARING CASE (127) counter clockwise. In order to protect the BEARING CASE from the damage, Please use the paper before sandwiching bearing case.
  • Page 6 Water Pump Pliers Vise Assembly Procedure Press fit the shaft into BALL BEARING 608ZT (122) and then insert the shaft with BALL BEARING 608ZT into BEARING CASE, WASHER 16X8.3X2.2 (128), SPRING WASHER (129) and SPOOL BASE (130). Using 1R311(Retaining ring pliers with long bent nails), insert the inner snap ring(120). Insert the bearing case into pipe then fix with SOCKET HEAD BOLT M5X25(126) and CROSSRECESS BOLT M6X30(115).
  • Page 7 Insert the pin to prevent the NYLON CUTTING HEAD ASS'Y(140) from rotating. DISASSEMBLY & ASSEMBLY PROCEDURES (Common in EM2600U, EM2600L and ER2600L) Precautions in Disassembly & Assembly Disassembly 1.Handle disassembled parts with care, and clean and keep them in order.
  • Page 8 Separating/Connecting Engine and Tool Separation Loosen the 2 bolts on holder case in order to remove drive shaft from holder case(Fig .II-1). Connection 1.Fully insert the drive shaft into the holder case (Approximately 60 mm;2-3/8",). If the inner shaft resists full insertion of the drive shaft, insert it again after slightly rotating the drive shaft or the support washer on the gear case to match the inner shaft with the hole inside the holder case.

  • Page 14 For U handle models 1.Place the two handles onto the handle holder. The control lever must come to right side when you look towards the cutting tool. 2.Fit the handle ends to the groove on the handle holder and fit the clamp on them.

And then wrap them with the waist pad. waist pad 5.Insert the throttle cable into the clamping slot of the handle holder. 6.Make sure the throttle cable is positioned as shown. 7.Operate the control lever and make sure it moves smoothly.

  • Page 17 Disassembly of handle and shaft part (ER2600L) Unscrew 4 HEX. SOCKET HEAD BOLTS M5X30 (108) to take out the U shaped HANDLE HOLDER 3(109). Make sure not to lose 4 NUTS M5 (111) behind HEX. SOCKET HEAD BOLT M5X30(108). Unscrew 4 TAPPING SCREWS PT4X18 (105). Unscrew 2 SOCKET HEAD BOLTS M5X20(40) and a SOCKET HEAD BOLT M5X12(SW)(41).Therefore, you are able to take the pipe out from the engine itself.
  • Page 18 Assembly of handle and shaft part (ER2600L) Insert the flexible shaft (107) into the pipe. Place the torsion spring(95) (97) in Throttle lever (96). Then place the Throttle lever is stuck in Lever case. Make sure concavo part of throttle lever is stuck in pin as shown in red circle. The Picture on right shows the image after assembly of lever case L and Throttle lever.

  • Page 21 Fuel Tube 1. Pull fuel tube about 20 – 30 mm(5/64” –11-3/16”) outside fuel tank for easy assembly. 2.Return fuel tube into within the tank, not to rise up kink. Clutch Drum 1.When installing the clutch drum on the main cover, always press on the center of the drum (where the boss is welded ), or the clutch drum may be deformed and vibration will occur during operation.

  • Page 24 Engine Parts Crankcase When assembling the crankcase, cut off the ends of crankcase gasket protruding from the top surface of the crankcase (see figure on the right). Cylinder When assembling the cylinder, coat both the cylinder inner surfaces and the piston itself with 2-cycle engine oil.
  • Page 25 Piston When placing the piston in the crankshaft assy, the triangular mark( ∆) on top of the piston should be on the crankshaft key slot side. Piston Ring When installing the piston ring on the piston, align the knock pin on the piston with the split on the piston ring. Unless they are lined up, the cylinder cannot be assembled.
  • Page 26 DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE 1.Refer to the disassembly drawing when disassembling or assembling. 2.Be careful not to damage gaskets when assembling. 3.Do not attempt to disassemble the throttle valve assy or pump body assy. 4.When you find during disassembly of the carburetor that the inlet screen is clogged or there is significant amount of build-up dust in the carburetor itself, be sure to clean out the fuel tank and replace the fuel tank filter.
