This document describes the installation and connection procedures for the Corning® optical network evolution (ONE™)
solutions optical interface unit (OIU) and relevant modules.
Note: The instructions for installing and connecting fiber main modules (FMMs) in the OIU chassis are not in the scope of this
document. For details, refer to the quick installation sheet provided with the module.
1.
REQUIRED KITS
The following kits are required for installing the OIU. If any of the listed items are missing, contact your Corning
representative.
OIU Kit
OIU Chassis (with blank panels) —
with factory-assembled FAM and rack brackets
Fan Module (FAM) — one unit hosting four fans
(factory installed in chassis rear)
RJ45 100 Base-T Ethernet Communication Cable,
L = 2-2.15 m (P/N: 705900003) — ACM management
connection

GENERAL INFORMATION
• OIMe —optical module only; fiber jumper is not included —
compatible MTP®-LC APC harness cable is ordered separately
(see Section 2 of this document)
• OIU chassis is supplied empty and only includes the factory-assembled
fan module (FAM). All other modules (i.e., power supplies, controller,
OIMe, OIXs, and FMMs) are ordered separately and must be installed.
