5. Use suction to draw the oil out of the sump, and into an appropriate container. Continue until oil flow ceases.

6. Remove the pump from the hose and install the oil evacuation hose plug. Use a back‑up wrench to support the evacuation
hose. Tighten the plug to the specified torque.

7. Place a suitable container under the oil filter to contain any oil that may leak when removing the filter.
8. Turn the oil filter counterclockwise to remove it. Use an appropriate tool to loosen the oil filter if it is difficult to turn.
9. Dispose of the oil filter as directed by local laws.
10. Wipe up the residual oil that is on the oil filter mounting adapter.
11. Lubricate the O‑ring on the new oil filter with engine oil. Do not use grease.

12. Install the oil filter and turn the filter clockwise until the O‑ring is firmly seated on the oil filter mounting adapter.
IMPORTANT: Overtightening the oil filter may cause deformation resulting in oil leakage.
13. Remove the oil fill cap and fill the engine with oil. Refer to Filling.
IMPORTANT: When filling the engine with oil, always use the dipstick to determine how much oil is required.
14. Dispose of the oil as directed by local laws.
15. Start the engine and check for leaks.

A sudden loss of pressure can cause hot coolant to boil and discharge violently, resulting in serious injury from burns. Allow
the engine to cool down before removing the coolant pressure cap.
