Safety 1.1 Intended use Your WATERKOTTE heat pump of the EcoTouch Ai1 Air series is used for space heating and cooling, and heating of domestic water. An outdoor unit, which is coupled to a heat source (air) that is available year-round, serves as heat generator.
Repeated restart of heat pump can result in total loss! In case heat pump breaks down, an inspection by qualified and authorised personnel must be performed before restart. 8 / 80 05.06.2015 Copyright 2013 by: WATERKOTTE GmbH. Subject to changes.
Safety 1.4 Operator's duty of care Your WATERKOTTE heat pump has been designed and built on the basis of a risk analysis and after careful selection of standards to be observed. Thus, your heat pump is state-of-the-art and provides for maximum safety.

0.01 MPa (0.1 bar). Make the necessary corrections. If the pressure drops during steps (2) or (3), a gas leak exists. Look for the source of the gas leak. 36 / 80 05.06.2015 Copyright 2013 by: WATERKOTTE GmbH. Subject to changes.
When removing the service hoses, do not point connections toward yourself. Residual refrigerant could escape. Never change factory setting of adjustment screw on expansion valve. 37 / 80 05.06.2015 Copyright 2013 by: WATERKOTTE GmbH. Subject to changes.
Refrigerant 9.3 Refrigerant charge and additional charge – EcoTouch Ai1 Air (Zubadan) The outdoor units come fully charged with refrigerant R410A from the facto- ry, allowing tube lengths (one way) up to 30 m without requiring additional charging. If tube lengths are less than 30 m, the charge in the outdoor unit is suffi- cient.
Refrigerant 9.4 Refrigerant charge and additional charge – EcoTouch Ai1 Air (Power Inverter) The outdoor units come fully charged with refrigerant R410A from the facto- ry, allowing tube lengths (one way) up to 10 m without requiring additional charging. If tube lengths are less than 10 m, the charge in the outdoor unit is suffi- cient.
To open left valve (liquid side) you need a 4 mm Allen key (see fig.). Turn Allen key counter clockwise to stop position (about 10 turns). Quit turning when stop is reached. 40 / 80 05.06.2015 Copyright 2013 by: WATERKOTTE GmbH. Subject to changes.
After charging the unit with refrigerant: - record the added refrigerant quantity on the service label (attached to unit) - and the total refrigerant quantity on the WATERKOTTE type plate. 9.5.2 Insulation After refrigerant has been added, properly insulate all adapters and tubes.
- is applied to the main terminals/relays of the EcoTouch Ai1 Air! Should it be necessary, disconnect all feed lines from the house fuse box. 42 / 80 05.06.2015 Copyright 2013 by: WATERKOTTE GmbH. Subject to changes.
