Quest 105/155/205/ 225 Dual Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions 7.2 Technical Description The Quest Dual Dehumidifier uses a refrigeration system similar to an air conditioner's to remove heat and moisture from incoming air, and add heat to the air that is discharged. However, when an electrical short occurs in the compressor motor, the resulting high temperature arc causes a portion of the refrigerant oil mixture to break down into carbonaceous sludge, a very corrosive acid, and water. -
