Symptom:
*CHECKING RADIATOR FAN OPERATION WITH NO DTC'S
FUSED B(+) CIRCUIT OPEN
RADIATOR FAN GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
RADIATOR FAN MOTOR
RADIATOR FAN RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
RADIATOR FAN RELAY
TEST
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, actuate the High and Low Speed Radiator Fan Relays.
Did the Radiator Fan Motor cycle on and off during both actuations?
Yes → Test Complete.
→ Go To 2
No

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, actuate both Radiator Fan Relays (one at a time).
Using a 12-volt Test Light connected to ground, backprobe the appropriate Radiator
Fan Relay Output circuit in the Radiator Fan Motor harness connector.
Does the test light cycle on and off?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Go To 5
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Radiator Fan Motor harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Radiator Fan Motor Ground circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the Radiator Fan Ground circuit(s) for an open.
No

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair

Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Radiator Fan Relays.
Using a 12-volt Test Light connected to ground, check the Fused B(+) circuit at both
relay connectors.
Did the test light illuminate brightly at both relay connectors?
Yes → Go To 6
→ Repair the Fused B(+) circuit(s) for an open.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
Replace the Radiator Fan Motor.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
