6.3

Setup Print Server's IP Address

The print server mus t have a unique IP address in order to be rec ognized by
the network .
You can s et up the IP address on the various Unix s ys tems using any one of
the following methods:
1. ARP & Ping Ass ignment (Recommend for Unix)
2. DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protoc ol)
3. BOOTP (Bootstrap Protocol)
4. RARP (Reverse Address Resolution Protoc ol)
The print server will use the last three methods to obtain its IP address
automatically if its IP address is configured as Auto (0.0.0.0).

ARP & Ping Assignment
You can use ARP and Ping commands with a web browser to c omplete
print server's IP address s etting.
Parameters for the commands are as follows :
For example, a print server with the following configuration:
Node ID: 0000B4010101
(The Node ID is printed on the rear s ide of the print s erver)
Ass ign IP address : 203.66.191.12
At the mean time, print server's IP will "temporarily" be set to
203.66.191.12 (will restore after reboot). Therefore, you need to run your
