the flight. It's considerably safer than arming an airstart controller with a switch of some sort,
because you can do it remotely from over 100' away if you wish, without having to stick your
face right next to the rocket to turn on a switch while standing on a ladder and hope the motor
doesn't fire.
Note: This Appendix is not meant to be an exhaustive description of all of the Proton's
features and its operation, it's a supplement to the Eggtimer Proton User's Manual,
specifically addressing the airstart functions. You need to read the User's Manual before
you read this one, common functions (such as connecting to the WiFi interface) and
wiring/mounting not directly related to airstart use are NOT covered in this manual!
Selecting the Airstart Option
To put a channel into Airstart Mode, select the Airstart option from the Mode dropdown menu
(you may have to click Done on some platforms), then click on the Submit button. Note that
when you do this, it clears any options that you have previously selected and sets them to the
default for the Airstart Mode. It will then take you to the Status Page.
The Airstart Settings Page
After you set a channel's mode to Airstart, you will see a Settings link next to the default timer
setting. To make changes to the settings, click on the link; you will see this page.
