Maintenance Intervals
The following maintenance interval should be followed to ensure best
performance and long life of your log splitter.
Before each use:
1) Check condition of log splitter.
2) Perform bed maintenance/cleaning.
3) Check drive belt tension and/or condition.
4) Check condition of power cord.
Every 5 hours of use:
1) Grease rack.
Every 25 hours of use:
1) Clean exterior of motor, make sure vents are unobstructed.
Lubrication
All bearings are sealed and require no further lubrication.
Bed Maintenance/Cleaning
It is highly recommended to remove all debris on the bed and the ram, and
to lubricate both parts with rust prevention fluid. This will ensure a smooth
return of the ram.
Greasing the Rack of the Ram
It is recommended to grease the rack of the ram every 5 hours of operation.
1) Disassemble the two protective side guards (A) Fig.11 by removing the 6
self tapping screws (B) and 2 hex. bolts (C) on each side.
2) Remove the engagement lever (D) Fig.11 and the safety lever knob (E),
now remove the top cover (F) to completely expose the internal parts of
the log splitter.
3) Disconnect the return spring (A) Fig.12 from the welded nut (B).
4) Pull the ram (A) Fig.13 out as shown and grease the teeth (B) of the rack
under the ram using general purpose grease.
5) Push the ram back in and reinstall the return spring. Reinstall the top
cover, two protective side guards, engagement lever and the safety lever
knob.
