4. OPERATING ELEMENTS AND CONNECTIONS

The OMNITRONIC SD-28 was designed for professional applications. The inputs and outputs are located
on the rear panel, the control elements on the front panel. The SD-28 offers two identical channels, each
with four controls and even LEDs. The printing below the operating elements differs in stereo and mono
mode. In stereo mode, the lower descriptions are valid, in mono mode, the upper ones.

Power switch with indicator
Turns power to the distributor on and off. When powered
on, the indicator lights up.

Level controls
For matching the output level of the individual channel.

Operating mode
Switches between stereo or mono mode.
• Stereo mode (switch unlocked): output signal for
channel B is the signal at INPUT B.
• Mono mode (switch locked): output signal for channel B
is the signal at INPUT A.

Outputs
Balanced XLR connectors for connecting audio units with
line level.

Input
Balanced XLR input for connecting audio units with line
level output. In mono mode, INPUT B is not available–
only one signal source can be connected to INPUT A.

Stereo/mono operating indicator
The STEREO or MONO LED lights up according to the
operating mode selected.

Output level LED meter
Indicates the output level within a range from +6 to -24
dB. Reduce the level if CLIP lights up permanently.

Parallel output
Balanced XLR connector for feeding through the input
signal. In mono mode, the parallel output of channel B is
not available–only the parallel output of channel A can be
used.

AC input with fuseholder
Used to plug the supplied power cord in. Only replace the
fuse when the device is disconnected from mains. Only
use fuses of the same rating and power. The correct fuse
value is specified on the rear panel.
