bumper.

Clean underside of mower deck, removing
all accumulation of grass clippings and
debds.
g. Lower Rear Engine Rider to ground and
clean top of
deck, removing
all grass
clippings and debris.
5. Mower Blade Spindle - Lubrication
With Rear Engine Rider standing
on rear
bumper, lubricate spindle with one shot of
general purpose grease from grease gun.
IMPORTANT:
If the Rear Engine Rider will be on its
rear bumper for longer than two hours, remove the
battery. See 4.6.1., BATTERY REMOVAL on Page 20.

6. Mower Deck Linkage - Lubrication
Lubricate
all mower deck linkage pivot
points with a light coat of motor oil.
REAR ENGINE RIDER - LUBRICATION
1. Front Wheel Bearings
Lubricate front wheel bearings with five
shots of general purpose grease, from
grease gun. See Figure 3.7.
2. Left Rear Axle Bearing
On Rear Engine Riders powered by 14HP
engines, the left rear axle does not require
lubrication.
However, those powered by
8HP, 9HP, or 12HP engines, the left rear
axle
bearing
requires
3
shots
of
SNAPPER
=00" general purpose grease
from grease gun. See Figure 3.8.

3. Right Rear Axle Bearing
The right rear axle bearing is lubricated by
the differential lubricant.
4. Differential
a. Stand rear engine rider on its rear
bumper and check the fill/level plug, for
cracks and wear. Replace fill/level plug if
signs of wear are visible.
b. To check lubricant, remove fill/level
plug and visually inspect for lubricant on
the internal parts of the differential. If no
lubricant is visible on the internal parts of
the differential, add =00" grease as
needed. See Figure 3.9.

IMPORTANT:
Overfilling of the differential with lubricant
will cause lubricant to leak onto drive components of the
Rear Engine Rider.
