Cut-in current
On cutting in the VLT frequency converter to the
mains a cut-in current surge occurs. The cut-in
current is limited by an NTC resistor. The size of this
current surge depends on the mains impedance and
the NTC resistor's cooling time since the last cut-in.
The current surge can be doubled if the VLT
frequency converter is still warm. The cooling time is
100-200 seconds.
