For best thermal performance, use enough trace width, copper weight, and proper connectors. The ISL8280MEVAL1Z is capable of operating at 10A full load current at room temperature without the need for additional cooling systems. However, if the ISL8280MEVAL1Z needs to operate at elevated ambient temperatures, the available output current needs to be derated.
