11 Replace the lid.
12 Fit the cap to the hole in the lid, and turn it anti-clockwise to lock it.
13 Don't run the appliance without fitting the cap.
C SWITCH ON
14 Check that the speed control is set to Y.
15 Put the plug into the power socket.
C SPEED CONTROL
16 Turn the speed control to the speed you want (1 = low, 3 = high).
17 Turn the speed control back to Y to turn the motor off.
18 Turning the speed control anti-clockwise to Y will give you a short burst at high speed. In
this direction, the knob is spring-loaded. When you let go, it'll return to Y.
19 The light will change colour as the speed changes.

C ADDING INGREDIENTS
20 To add ingredients while the blender is working, remove the cap, pour the new ingredients
through the hole, then replace the cap.

21 Switch the appliance off (Y) and unplug it.
22 Turn the jug to align the d with the U to unlock it, and lift it off the motor unit.
U CRUSHED ICE
23 Before using the appliance to crush ice, make sure it's clean, and rinse it out thoroughly.
24 The slightest trace of detergent may affect the taste of the crushed ice, and will flatten any
drink to which it is added.
25 For best results, full the jug with between 150ml and 500ml of ice cubes.
26 Put the lid on the blender, then:
27 Turn the speed control to Y for a second or two, then release it.
28 Check the results, and adjust.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
29 Switch the appliance off (Y) and unplug it.
30 Wipe the outside of the motor unit with a clean damp cloth.
31 Hand wash the removable parts.
` You may wash these parts in a dishwasher.
32 If you use a dishwasher, the harsh environment inside the dishwasher will affect the surface
finishes.
33 The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not affect the operation of the appliance.
S BLADE UNIT
34 You may wish to remove the blade unit for cleaning.
35 Remove the lid.
36 Sit the jug upside down.
37 Unscrew the jug base and lift it off.
38 Handle only the plastic – don't touch the metal parts.
39 Carefully, lift the blade unit out of the jug.
