ANCHORING:

Your Seawind 1000XL2 carries a 35lb High Holding Type anchor with 10
meters of 8mm short link galvanized chain and 30 meters of 16mm rope. An
optional second 27lb anchor with 10 meters of chain and 40 meters of rope
may also be included.
If optioned your boat may be fitted with a "Lewmar" electric anchor winch. In
which case your primary anchor setup will have upgraded to a 35lb High
Holding Type anchor with 55 meters of 8mm short link galvanized chain. It is
good practice to regularly apply an anticorrosive treatment to the body &
motor of the winch.
When anchoring your boat the length of anchor rope (not including chain)
should be about 5 times the depth of the water you are anchoring in. Under
most conditions your Seawind will sit at anchor comfortably and securely
using its standard anchoring set-up fed out through the forward bow roller.
There may be occasions however, such as when anchoring in short chop or
with wind against tide, that the use of a bridle may make resting at anchor
more comfortable. A bridle will reduce the tendency of your boat to swing
around its anchor or mooring.
