4. When using large protein skimmers with a requirement that
exceeds 8 litres of air per minute, we recommend adding a T
connector and valve to the ozone input tube of your
skimmer. The optional valve can be used to adjust the
volume of the ozone and air mixture to the skimmer.
5. Multiple ozone generators can be connected by using T
connectors in the skimmer intake tube. This is useful for
larger water volumes or commercial high fish stock systems
where Redox/ORP levels are of even greater importance.
6. We recommend that a V
combination with a skimmer that sucks air via a venturi or
similar device. This is because the air flow in this case is a
vacuum flow so ozone is far less likely to leak out. If an air
pump or oxygen gas is to be connected to the V
Generator, please consult a professional for advice on
installation and precautions that should be taken.
7. The performance of the V
enhanced and ozone cell cleaning minimised by making sure
that the air supply entering the ozone generator is as clean
and dry as possible. This means your V
should be in an area where the air is relatively dry and
particle free.
8. wooden air diffuser block can be fitted to the air input side
of the ozone cell, thereby filtering larger dust particles and
absorbing some moisture. By using two of these wooden
diffuser blocks and alternating them you can have a very
positive effect on your V
The air filter block not being used can be dried in a warm
place. Naturally the larger the air filter blocks, the less often
you will need to swap, clean and dry them. lternatively a
small desiccant air dryer can be used.
9. Regardless of the set up used, it is beneficial to have a long
contact time between the ozone gas bubbles and the water
being treated in the skimmer or other ozone mixing device.
preferred strategy when using ozone is to aerate the water that
exits the skimmer before passing it back to the aquarium
through an activated carbon filter. This will reduce the risk of
high and possibly harmful residual ozone levels in the aquarium.
10. Do not let water from your skimmer or other ozone mixing
device pass directly into a biological filter, as this type of filter
is sensitive to even low levels of ozone.
