3 Function Description

Derating

- Derating by input voltage
Figure3.3. below shows derating curve by input voltage.

- Derating by operating ambient temperature
Figure3.3. and Figure3.4. show the derating characteristics by operating ambient
temperature. A ripple and a ripple noise specification varies in the shadow area (figure 3.4).
This unit should stay within temperature measurement points (explained below) as well.
(1) Temperature measurement points
Make sure the temperatures at point A and point B stay lower than the one listed in Table
3.1.
Confirm even under the condition of forced air, it satisfies the temperature condition
indicated in Table3.1.
The expected lifetime of point A and point B at maximum temperature is approximately
three years. If you plan to extend the expected lifetime, see "Expected Lifetime"
(Table3.2.) and "Warranty" (Table3.3.).
