Thank you for choosing Cisco Business Edition 6000. This guide describes how to install the
server and prepare it for configuration. Detailed instructions on how to install the applications,
configure the features, and connect the devices is provided online. See the Where to Go from
Here section for details.

Before you unpack the server, verify that all of the following items are present. If any item is
missing or appears to be damaged, contact your supplier immediately.
 Cisco UCS C220 M3 Server
 Rack‐mounting kit
 Power cord or cords – one power cord for the Medium‐Density (MD) Server; two power
cords for the High‐Density (HD) Server
 KVM adaptor
 Ethernet cables (2)
 Console cable
 Cisco Virtualization Hypervisor license pack
 Cisco Video Communication Server license pack
Note: Record and store the license keys from the Cisco Virtualization Hypervisor and the
Cisco Video Communication Server license packs. You must have the license keys
to activate the products.
Before You Begin
Ensure that you have the following before you unpack the server:
 Space in a standard 19‐inch equipment rack (1 RU) for each server
 110 / 220 VAC power feeds
 VGA monitor and USB keyboard (not supplied) – for initial installation only
 Ethernet network port or ports configured for the server connection
