IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS - Ensure there is always a 1.5 cm space between the door and the brickwork - Keep all fl ammable materials away from the appliance (nylon fabric, fl ammable liquids, etc.) Furniture must also be kept at least one metre from the appliance - WARNING: children and people who are not familiar with the appliance must refrain from operating it.

8.2. SETTING THE FIREPLACE MANUALLY Set the fi replace manually when the remote control batteries are fl at or there is a malfunction or a poor connexion between the remote and the fi replace (n° 16 of the description on page 8). This is a plasticised tab at the end of a cable (normally always accessible).
8.3. INITIALISING THE STANDARD REMOTE CONTROL When the fi replace is installed, the remote control must be initialised to establish a connection between it and the fi replace. It is also sometimes necessary to repeat this operation after changing batteries or making repairs. Important: warning! Initialisation must be done by a trained person and infrequently.
MAINTENANCE - Never clean the appliance when it is hot! Wait until it has cooled down - Dusting: Do not use strong or liquid products. A dry rag or sponge is recommended - Soiled areas can be restored with SPECIAL HIGH TEMPERATURE aerosols (Bodart & Gonay) available from your supplier - Do not use a strong product to clean the window.

- The appliance must be installed in compliance with the legislation in effect. We recommend that you comply with local installation legislation in effect for the air vent: + The COSMOS 125 and COSMOS 125D gas fi replace air vent connexion must be done by a certifi ed installer.
CHIMNEY ASSEMBLY 2.1. Chimney confi guration - The only fl ues allowed are the: Metaloterm Ontop US dia 100/150 system or the Poujoulat 100/150 Dualis PGI system. The appliance can also be installed with a fl ue of 130/200 in diameter (see diagram below) using an adapter (reference USVG1013 from Metaloterm Ontop).
2.2. If there is already a chimney (Category C31s) The chimney fl ue for the Cosmos 125 and 125D must be clean, airtight and have a diameter of at least 150. The “existing chimney” component (with the Metaloterm cleaning kit only) is an integral part of the installation.

NOTE FOR THE COSMOS 125 DF: OPENING DOORS The two glass doors of the COSMOS 125 DF do not have the same opening system. The door in front of the pilot light opens as described above. The other door, located behind the pilot light, opens as follows: To open, use the key tool to push back the latch.

FIREPLACE FITTING - COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS: Must not be placed in the immediate vicinity of the fi replace, of the hot air outlets, or of the chimney fl ue. The safety distance for the fi replace fi tting depends on the degree of fl ammability of the material used (see NF DTU 24.1 and 24.2 standards or local norms).
