Commissioning

Inserting the back-up batteries

The back-up batteries ensure that the programmed
time, date, alarm time and set SDAs (Special Day
Alert) are not erased in the event of a power failure.
For this, you require two 1.5V batteries of type
AAA. They are not supplied with the appliance.
1.
Open the lid of the battery compartment
the underside of the kitchen radio.
2.
Insert the batteries. Make sure the polarities
are correct.
3.
Close the lid of the battery compartment
The lid must audibly engage.
Take note:
The back-up batteries must be checked at least
once per year and, if necessary, exchanged for
new ones.

Providing mains power

• Insert the plug into a power socket. The kitchen
radio starts in automatic mode. Appearing
repeatedly in the display is
„PLEASE WAIT FOR SETTING THANKS".
When an RDS-Signal is received, the date and time
are automatically adjusted. The current time is
shown in the display. Subject to reception quality,
this can take up to 5 minutes.
If the time is not correctly displayed, enter in the
correct date and time manually as described in
the following sections.

Setting the time

If a subsequent button is not pressed within ten
seconds, the kitchen radio defaults back into auto-
matic mode (the currently set time is displayed).
The radio must be off to set the time.

changes the date at intervals of 10 days.
If a button is not pressed within 10 seconds,
the kitchen radio defaults back to automatic mode.

Setting the SDA

By means of the SDA (Special Day Alert) mode it is
possible to store certain days. You can activate up
to 6 dates. The kitchen radio then reminds you at
8 a.m.of the set day.

In automatic mode press the button

three times. Alternatively blinking in the dis-
play are "SDA 1" and the current set date.

When you deactivate the year, the SDA alarm
will respond on the set date every year.

SDA alarms.
If a button is not pressed within 10 seconds,
the kitchen radio defaults back to automatic mode.
When the set date corresponds with the SDA alarm...
• an acoustic signal is sounded at 8 a.m. for
ten minutes,
• "SDA" blinks on the display,
• the acoustic signal is repeated on the hour
every hour until 11 p.m.
If you wish to stop the SDA alarm, press any button.
