Web Operations
The HSR-X206/X206P can be connected to a network
operated through the network. You can also download
image and sound data via the network.
Operational conditions
To operate the HSR-X206/X206P via a network, use
under the following conditions.
PC: Pentium III 400 MHz, 64 MB or more
OS: Windows 98/Windows Me/Windows NT 4.0
ServicePack 6a or higher/Windows 2000/Windows
XP
Web browser: Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher
For the connections and the preparatory settings on the
HSR-X206/X206P, see "Network Connections and
Associated Settings" on page 53.
HSR-X200 Viewer and ActiveX
To play back downloaded image and sound data, the
special program HSR-X200 Viewer is to be installed in
your PC.
In addition, ActiveX is necessary to monitor and store
sound transmitted to PC via a network, ActiveX is
necessary. ActiveX will be automatically installed by
installing HSR-X200 Viewer ver. 1.5.1 or later.

Note
If the Proxy ON setting has been selected with the
browser software on the PC for control via the
network, entire or partial loss of a downloaded picture
may occur. In addition, the proxy server model setting
may cause various unexpected phenomena. To
eliminate such problems, it is strongly recommended
to use the Proxy OFF setting.
Accessing the Recorder

Start Internet Explorer.

Type the following in the Address box and press
the Enter key.
http://< IP address for the HSR-X206/X206P >/
The IP address for the HSR-X206/X206P is the
one that has been set with the submenu
5. NETWORK SET of the main menu 3.
GENERAL SET.
The Network Password input window opens.
Notes
• If you try to access an HSR-X206/X206P on
which anther PC has logged, the message "THE
UNIT IS BUSY!" will be displayed.
• If you try to access an HSR-X206/X206P which
does not permit connection, the message " THE
UNIT IS NOT READY!" will be displayed.

Type ID1, ID2, or ID3 in the User box and the
corresponding password set with NETWORK SET
in the Password box.
Notes
The operations via the network are limited
depending on the password you entered.
If you accessed with ID1: You are enabled only to
view the current camera input.
If you accessed with ID2: You are enabled to
view the current camera input or playback
picture and perform operations related to
playback and data storage. Recording and
menu operations are not allowed.
If you accessed with ID3: You are enabled to
perform operations using all the browser
buttons.
If you accessed with ID1 or ID2 and try to perform
an operation not allowed, a warning message will
be displayed.

Click on OK.
When the password is verified, the SELECT
LANGUAGE display for the HSR-X206/X206P is
displayed.
