Do not exceed the speed lim its fo r

T ra ile r o p e ra tio n
To prevent the en gine from la b o rin g
at lo w RPMs, do not a llo w th e en­
g in e speed to d ro p to o low on u p h ill
g ra d ie n ts. D e pending on the degree
o f the in clin e , s h ift se le cto r lever to
p o s itio n s " 3 " or " 2 " early en ough to
m a in ta in e n g in e RPMs w ith in best
to rq u e range.
S to p p in g
For b rie f stops, e.g. at tra ffic lights,
leave the tra n sm issio n engaged and
c o n tro l ve hicle w ith th e service
brake.
For lo n g er stops w ith the eng ine id l­
ing, s h ift in to " N " or " P" .
W hen s to p p in g the car on a slope,
do not hold it w ith th e accelerator,
use th e brake. This avoids u n ­
necessary tra n sm issio n heat-up.
M aneuvering
To m aneuver in tig h t areas, e.g.
w hen p u llin g in to a pa rkin g space,
c o n tro l the car speed by g rad ually
releasing the service brake.
A ccele rate g e n tly and do not pum p
the a cce lerator. To ro ck a car o u t of
s o ft g ro u n d (m ud o r snow ), alte r­
nately s h ift fro m fo rw a rd to reverse
w h ile a p p lyin g p artia l th ro ttle .
