Blade Tension Adjustment (FIG 7)
A change in blade width or type of material being cut will affect the blade tension. If the blade tension
is too loose, the blade may slip on the wheels. If the blade is too tight, the blade may break.
1. Turn the blade tension knob (1) clockwise, to raise the upper blade wheel (2) and increase the
tension on the blade. The blade should be tight on the wheel, but do not overtighten the blade.
2. Turn the blade tension knob (1) counterclockwise to lower the upper blade wheel (2) and reduce the
tension on the blade.

Blade Tracking Adjustment (FIG 8)
NOTE: Adjust blade tension properly before making tracking adjustments and check that the blade
guides are not interfering with the blade.
1. Open the cover door by releasing the upper and lower latches. Watch the blade's position on the
upper wheel through the view-through window.
2. Rotate the upper blade wheel (2) clockwise and check the position of the blade on the wheel. The
blade should remain in the center of the wheel.
3. If the blade moves toward the front of the wheel, turn the blade tracking knob (3) slightly clockwise.
At the same time, turn the upper wheel until the blade is centered.
4. If the blade moves toward the back edge of the wheel, turn the blade tracking knob (3) slightly
counterclockwise. At the same time, turn the upper wheel until the blade is centered.
5. Check the position of the blade on the lower wheel. If the tracking is off, continue adjusting the
blade until it sits properly on both wheels.

Blade Guide Adjustment

NOTE: The upper and lower blade guides and support bearings (located above and below the table)
keep the blade moving in a straight line during operation. These guides must be checked and adjusted
before each use and after changing the blade. Make sure the blade tension and tracking are properly
adjusted before adjusting the upper and lower blade guides.
To adjust the upper blade guide (Fig 9 page 11):
1. Remove the red blade guard by loosening the two screws (1) with the Allen wrench provided. Slide
the blade guard away.
2. Loosen the two front screws (2). Adjust the blade guides (3) so that they are as close as possible to
the blade, without touching or pinching the blade. Tighten the screws (2).
3. Adjust the blade guide brackets (4) by loosening the screw (5). Move the bracket until the front of
the guide (3) is behind the blade teeth. Tighten the screw (5).
NOTE: The support bearing (6) keeps the saw blade from being pushed back when it is cutting.
The blade should be 1/32" from the bearing to operate properly.
4. Loosen the screw (7). Slide the support bearing (6) to 1/32" from the blade.
5. Tighten the screw (7).
6. Replace the red blade guard if no additional adjustments are needed.
