If you leave the transmission range

Telephoning is only possible in the Bluetooth transmission range of the
base station or the Bluetooth device, respectively. The transmission
range depends largely on environmental conditions like wall thickness,
wall composition etc. With a free line of sight, the transmission range of
the base station is up to 100 metres; the transmission range of the Blue-
tooth device is up to 10 metres.
