TURNING TO FM STEREO STATIONS
To receive an FM stereo broadcast, make sure that
"MONO
is not displayed.
If "MONO
appears,
press [REPEAT/FM
MODE] to turn "MONO
off.
"ST" appears when an FM stereo broadcast is re-
.
ceived.
If the signal from an FM stereo station is weak
and reception is poor, press [REPEAT/FM
MODE]
to change to monaural
reception.
"MONO
ap-
pears. The sound will be monaural.
PROGRAMMED
TUNING
If a station frequency
is stored in the memory, it
can easily be recalled using [P,SCAN].
Up to 6 stations each can be programmed
in the
FM and AM bands.
Programming
stations
1.
Tune in the station to be preset as described
in "UP/DOWN TUNING.
2.
Press [MEMORY]. "PRG
blinks.
3.
While "PRG" is blinking,
press [P.SCAN] to
select the channel number (1-6) to be preset.
4.
While '(PRG" is blinking, press [MEMORY].
5.
Repeat the steps above to add more program-
ming stations.
NOTE:
Whenever
a new station is programmed,
the
previous programming
will be canceled.
TUNING INTO PROGRAMMED
STATIONS
Preset scan tuning
1.
Press [BAND] to select the desired band.
2.
Press and hold down [P.SCAN] for at least 1
second. '(PS" blinks.
The programmed
stations are tuned into suc-
cessively for about 5 seconds each.
3.
If [P.SCAN] is pressed within about 5 seconds
when a desired station has been tuned in to,
that station will stay tuned in to.
LISTENING
TO TAPE
NOTES:
Do not use the endless tape.
Use the normal tape (TYPE 1)
PLAYBACK
1.
Set [FUNCTION]
to TAPE.
2.
Press [STOP/EJECT].
The cassette holder opens.
3.
Load the cassette into the cassette holder.
4,
Close the cassette holder.
5.
Press [PLAY].
6.
Adjust
[VOLUME],
[TONE]
and
[BASSXPANDER]
as desired.
7.
Press [STOP/EJECTl
to stop playback at any
time. When the end of the tape has been
reached, automatic stop will be activated.
Pause
Press [PAUSE] to temporarily
stop the tape dur-
ing playback or recording.
Press it again to con-
tinue.
Fast Forward and Rewind
Press [FFWD] or [REW] to quickly wind the tape
forward or backward. Press [STOP/EJECTl
to stop
the tape.
When the end of the tape is reached, the tape will
stop, and [FFWD] or [REW] will be automatically
released.
Full automatic
stop
This unit has a full-release stop system, to protect
the tape and prevent pinch roller damage. When
the end of the tape is reached in Playback,
Re-
cording, Fast forward or Rewind, the tape mecha-
nism will automatically
stop.
Alternate tuning method
1.
Press [BAND] to select the desired band.
2.
Press [P.SCAN] to display the number of the
preset of your choice.
Tap [P.SCAN] lightly.
