The Aqua Lung i770R may display an error related to altitude and restrict access to the operating interface if the altitude level exceeds the device's tested or supported limits. The i770R has altitude settings that adjust for changes in atmospheric pressure, and operating beyond these limits may prevent proper function. Additionally, if the altitude settings are not correctly configured, the dive computer may enter a restricted mode to prevent inaccurate calculations that could compromise diver safety.
The program within the i770R simulates the absorption of inert gases into the body by using a mathematical model. This model is merely a way to apply a limited set of data to a large range of experiences. The i770R dive computer model is based upon the latest research and experiments in decompression theory.
This is an important reason for not pushing the tables, oxygen exposure limits, or entering decompression without proper training. If you dive in situations where your trip would be ruined or your safety would be jeopardized by losing the use of your i770R, a backup instrument system is highly recommended.
