M3 Automated Mega Shade

Installation Instructions

The SureShade® M3 automated mega shade system is an electric
power-driven retractable shade featuring a self-supported
stainless steel framework. The M3 features two crossbars enabling
it to extend up to 10 feet.
This installation guide includes instructions for properly installing
the framework and electrical components for our M3 automated
shade systems.

  • Page 3 After drilling the mounting holes, thru-bolting the mounting clamps and securing the actuators in place, insert the outer crossbar into both ends of the actuators to ensure the actuators are mounted to the specified width (Fig 3). The crossbar should slide into the actuator tubes easily when mounted to the proper width.
  • Page 4 The electrical housing is pre-wired and tested before shipping. This unit is a 12V DC system. The electrical housing controls the retracted and extended positions as well as the synchronization of the actuators’ movement. The synchronization is accomplished by sensors positioned inside the actuator that communicate with the electrical housing.
