    Using the included mini USB cable, plug the SC550W into a computer USB port or a USB wall adapter. The charging indicator light on the back of the SC550W will light up red to indicate it is charging. NOTE: To operate the SC550W using wall power (instead of batteries), just plug it in as if you were charging it.

    (located under the back cover). Power Off -Slide the power switch to OFF Continuous/Motion Detection Modes The SC550W can record in either continuous or in motion activation. The default mode is continuous; it will automatically start recording in this mode when it is initially powered on.

    & insert the card reader into your PC. Open the disk that appears on your PC. NOTE: We recommend using VLC media player to playback your files. 2. Use The RecorderGear App (See section 8-3) Download The RecorderGear APP Visit the App Store for iOS devices or Google Play Store for Android devices.
  • Page 12: Set-Up Wi-Fi Ip Camera Function

    Download & install the RecorderGear APP (See section 6) on your iOS/Android device. Turn ON the SC550W & allow 2 minutes for your SC550W to set up & transmit a Wi-Fi signal. Locate the camera UID on the QR code sticker of your SC550W.
  • Page 13 NOTE: The UID & QR code is unique to your device. Open the Wi-Fi Settings of your iOS/ Android device, then select the camera’s UID (matches the QR code sticker) from the Wi-Fi list.
  • Page 14 Open the RecorderGear APP & tap Search (upper right corner); you should see the SC550W’s UID, tap to connect to it & then it will be added to your camera list. NOTE: If the SC550’s UID doesn’t show up in the search, you can add the camera manually by tapping the Add Camera (upper right corner).
  • Page 15 Live Video/Main Page NOTE: At this point, you can only operate the APP within range of the SC550W’s Wi-Fi signal. For full Wi-Fi IP camera functionality, complete the next section 7-2.
  • Page 16 Tap Wi-Fi Settings & select your Home/ Business Wi-Fi name. Enter your Home/ Business Wi-Fi password as prompted. Tap OK to accept the connection. Confirm you want to connect the SC550W to the selected Wi-Fi, by tapping OK. It will then say Device Reset, tap OK.

    Understanding The RecorderGear APP This section will help you understand the functions of the RecorderGear APP.

  • Page 20 These options include: Save to Album - Save snapshots/photos to your phone’s photos APP. Share - Share snapshots/photos to social media or save to your phones photos APP. Delete Snapshot - Delete a specific snapshot/photo. Delete All - Delete all the photos that have been taken through the APP.
  • Page 21 On App Recordings - Select to view files that have been recorded through the APP. Micro SD Card Recordings - Shows footage contained on the micro SD card. To download files to the APP, first, select your desired camera. Next, press & hold the file you would like to download.

    NOTE: ALL footage is saved to the micro SD Card. However, footage recorded by pressing the Record Icon on the video stream page (see section 9) are saved to directly to the APP as well as the micro SD card 4.
