Changing the Delay Time

The sound from speakers can reach the listening position at
different times depending the speaker placements. You can
allow for this difference by changing the delay time of the center
and surround speakers.

1. Press [SETUP/MENU] once or twice in the stop mode or disc
is not inserted.
The "MENU" screen appears on the TV screen.

2. Press [4] or [5] to select "SPEAKER SETUP".
3. Press [ENTER].
The "SPEAKER SETUP" screen appears on the TV screen.

4. Press [4] or [5] to select "DELAY ADJUST".

The "DELAY ADJUST" screen appears on the TV screen.

8. Press [4] or [5] to select the center speaker delay time.
("0ms", "1ms", "2ms", "3ms", "4ms" and "5ms")
Center speaker delay time
If D1 = < D2, set the delay time to "0ms".
If D1>D2, set the delay time as follows:
Difference between D1 and D2
1 foot (Approx. 30.5cm)
2 feet (Approx. 61cm)
3 feet (Approx. 91.5cm)
4 feet (Approx. 122cm)
5 feet (Approx. 152.5cm)

Surround left

D1: The distance from the front speaker
D2: The distance from the center speaker
D3: The distance from the surround speaker
9. Press [ENTER].
"CENTER DELAY" and the selected delay time remain.
10. Press [5] to select "SURR. DELAY".

12. Press [4] or [5] to select the surround speaker delay time.

If D1 = < D3, set the delay time to "0ms".
If D1>D3, set the delay time as follows:
Difference between D1 and D3
5 feet (Approx. 152.5cm)
10 feet (Approx. 305cm)
15 feet (Approx. 457.5cm)
13. Press [ENTER].
"SURR. DELAY" and the selected delay time remain.
14. Press [SETUP/MENU] until the menu screen is cleared.
Note:
If no adjustments are made, the original display returns after
approximately 60 seconds.
