Winter Storage (long term)
When storing your kayak in your garage or shed for the winter you can use the
procedures outlined on the previous page. If you do not have an indoor or sheltered
location to store your kayak in the winter, you will need to cover and store your
kayak in an area that is not prone to ice and snow build-up. If you are leaving your
kayak outside, a storage area with a roof is always best practice to eliminate the
chance of snow build-up. Kayaks can be damaged if struck or under heavy load
in below freezing conditions.
