Mid-Century Spindle Toddler Rail

• For toddler bed use, the minimum age shall be no less than 15 months, and the maximum weight shall not be
greater than 50 lb (22.7 kg).
• Infants can suffocate on soft bedding. Never add a pillow or comforter. Never place additional padding under an
infant.
• To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend healthy infants be placed on their backs to sleep, unless
otherwise advised by your physician.
Strangulation Hazard:
• Strings can cause strangulation! DO NOT place items with a string, cord or ribbon around a child's neck, such as
hood strings or pacifier cords. DO NOT suspend strings over crib or toddler bed, or attach strings to toys for any
reason.
• To help prevent strangulation, tighten all fasteners. A child can trap parts of the body or clothing on loose fasteners.
• DO NOT place crib or toddler bed near windows where cords from blinds or drapes may strangle a child.
Fall Hazard:
• When child is able to pull to standing position, set mattress to lowest position and remove bumper pads, large toys
and other objects that could serve as steps for climbing out.
• When child is able to climb out or reaches the height of 35 inches (90 cm), the crib shall no longer be used and the
child should be placed in a youth or regular bed.
CAUTION: ANY MATTRESS USED IN THIS CRIB

MUST BE AT LEAST 27-1/4 INCHES (69 cm) BY 51-5/8
INCHES (131 cm) WITH A THICKNESS NOT EXCEEDING
6 INCHES (15 cm).
• Check this product for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts or sharp edges before and after assembly and
frequently during use. Securely tighten loose bolts and other fasteners. DO NOT use crib if any parts are missing,
damaged, or broken. Contact Crate and Barrel® for replacement parts and instructional literature if needed. DO NOT
substitute parts.
• If refinishing, use a non-toxic finish specified for children's products.
• Never use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers because they can cause suffocation.
• Infants can suffocate in gaps between crib sides and a mattress that is too small.
• Periodically check to see that all bolts are securely tightened.
• To clean toddler bed: Wipe with clean soft cloth dampened with a mild cleanser and water. Rinse with clean water
using a soft cloth, and dry thoroughly.
• Follow warnings on all products in a toddler rail.
• When a vaporizer is in use, always aim vapor steam away from the toddler bed as well as away from other wood
furniture.

Please take time to identify the hardware as well as the individual components of the product. As you unpack and prepare for assembly, place the contents on a carpeted or padded area to protect them from damage.
  • Page 3 Mid-Century Spindle Toddler Rail Assembly Instructions 1 - Toddler rail Using a large Allen wrench, unfasten 4 bolt caps and carefully remove mattress support panel from corresponding pins of assembly as shown. Remove 4 support pins from assembly. Set aside hardware and components until further instructions.

(Pre-attached to large bolts) With assistance of another adult, remove 1 end panel and 1 side panel from assembly. Using a small Allen wrench, unfasten 12 large bolts, 12 spring washers and 12 flat washers as shown.
  • Page 5 Mid-Century Spindle Toddler Rail Assembly Instructions (Pre-attached to large bolts) Release 1 leg A and 1 leg B to side panel as shown. Using a small Allen wrench, unfasten 2 large bolts, 2 spring washers and 2 flat washers from each leg as shown.
  • Page 6 Mid-Century Spindle Toddler Rail Assembly Instructions Attach toddler rail assembly to 1 end panel with 4 large bolts, 4 spring washers and 4 flat washers as shown. Do not fully tighten until further instructions. Attach remaining end panel to assembly with 8 large bolts, 8 spring washers and 8 flat washers as shown. Do not fully tighten until further instructions.

Locate the lowest hole setting of toddler rail assembly as shown. Fit each support pin into corresponding corner. Make sure support pin is securely engaged with assembly.
  • Page 8 Mid-Century Spindle Toddler Rail Assembly Instructions NOTE: Make sure metal plate of mattress panel is at the bottom during assembly Carefully place mattress support panel onto corresponding pins of assembly and secure with 4 bolt caps as shown. Attach each cap with large Allen wrench. Do not fully tighten until further instructions.

    Mid-Century Spindle Toddler Rail Assembly Instructions Once the toddler bed is in use, periodically check to make sure all bolts are tight, and tighten as necessary. Keep these instructions for future use. MAINTENANCE Upon completion of assembly, be sure all screws, bolts and fastening devices have been tightened securely. Periodically repeat this check to make sure all screws, bolts and fastening devices are tight.
