2. Requirements for the Superior System

The MTX-GTW II has an IP65 enclosure which protects itself again dust, external impact and contact.
However, as the MTX-GATEWAY PCB can be bought as a standalone product, the following points must
be considered:

2.1 Protection Against External Effects

The MTX-GTW II PCB is not protected against dust, external impact and contact (IP00). An adequate
protection has to be guaranteed by the surrounding system.

2.2 Thermal Management

The main heat sources are the iMX6UL-IND/IOT module and the Cinterion radio module. The iMX6UL-
IND/IOT module power consumption is 1.25 W.
The Cinterion radio module power consumption during idle communication state is lower than 0.150 mW.
The Cinterion module can increase its power consumption up to 3W during data transmission sequences,
depending on radio bands and used protocol. During GSM data transmission burst, the Cinterion radio
module can achieve a peak power consumption of 7 W. Check specifications for more information on the
thermal behavior of every Cinterion module model.
