4.3 Redundant operation

If operating two or more H
loss of source control in case that one display fails. Depending on the used output cards and the selection of the
format of the output data different configurations must be applied.
Digital Output with One Channel Output Card MDR 26 – D15
If the H
C
units are connected to projection modules with digital input and if one channel output cards
YDRA
OMPACT
MDR 26 – D15 are used, they must be equipped with a second output card for redundant operation each. One
output card is connected as usually to the projection module, the second output card is connected to the input
connector of the overlay input card of the other H
Analog Output with One Channel Output Card MDR 26 – D15
If the H
C
units are connected to projection modules with analog input and if one channel output cards
YDRA
OMPACT
MDR 26 – D15 are used, one output card per H
card remains connected to the projection module, the digital connector [2] of the output card is connected to the
overlay input card of the other H
Digital/analog output with DVI-video output card
With the DVI-video output card also two cases have to be distinguished. If these output cards are connected with
the DVI connector to the projection modules then two output cards per H
lish a redundant setup. The DVI connector of the first output card is connected to the projection module to pro-
vide the digital or analog data, the DVI connector of the second output card is connected to the overlay input
card of the other H
YDRA
devices; see also the figure above. If this configuration is used, a DVI timing should be selected.
Video output with DVI-video output card
If this type of output card is connected to devices to display data with a video timing, then one output card per
H
C
is sufficient to setup a redundant system. The suitable BNC connector (SDI or CVBS) of the output

card remains connected to the displaying device, whereas the DVI connector is used to connect to the overlay
input card of the other H
Analog or Digital Output with DVI-DVI Output Card
If the H
C
units are equipped with DVI-DVI output cards, one output card per H

used to connect to the overlay input card of the other H
