1600 SERIES
Clutch
The clutch pedal is covered with a rubber pad
with tread to prevent the operator's foot from
slipping off. There is a metal hook located be-
hind the pedal for storing the tractor in cold
weather conditions for extended periods. The
clutch pedal can be depressed and locked
into place to keep the clutch disc from freez-
ing to the pressure plate and fly wheel.
Brakes
Like the clutch pedal, the two brake pedals
are also covered with a rubber pad to prevent
the operator's foot from slipping. The operator
can lock the brakes together with metal lever
that is found between the two pedals, to in-
crease stopping ability (the brake pedals
should always be locked together when in
transport). On hydrostatic models, the brake
pedals are located on the left side of the
steering column, so brakes can be used si-
multaneously with the hydrostatic pedals, im-
proving turning radius.
Tilt Steering
The tilt steering is controlled by the foot lever
located on the left side of the steering column.
The steering wheel can be set to any of three
positions when the lever is pushed in, and will
be locked into place when it is released.
