Programming Your Remote Control

Your remote control for the System 5100 has four different modes

of operation. This allows your remote to access and control other

equipment in your entertainment system such as your TV, VCR or

cable box.

There are four buttons on the remote which are used to select

modes, Each button has an indicator that lights when it's selected.

To program the remote control to control your TV or VCR, follow

these steps:

1. Press and hold the P key for about 3 seconds, until the four mode

keys begin to flash.

2. After the four mode keys begin flashing, press either the TV or VCR

mode key.

Once a mode key is pressed, it stops flashing and all of the other

mode keys are turned off.

3. See the Appendix on Page 78 for a list of codes by product and

manufacturer, and enter the 3-digit code that matches your

particular product.

4. After all 3 digits are entered, the mode key flashes twice if a correct

code has been entered.

For example, to program the remote control for a Mitsubishi TV:

Press and hold the P key. After 3 seconds, all mode keys start

flashing.

Press TV. The TV mode key is now selected, and all the others

are turned off.

Press 1, 5, 0. You will see the TV key flash two times.

5. There are multiple codes for a single brand of product. To see if the

remote code is correct, point the remote toward your TV or VCR,

and press power, channel : or ; , etc. If your product doesn't

respond to the remote commands, repeat these steps using the

next code listed for that manufacturer.

Note:

Laser disc players are programmed under the VCR mode.
