- Page 18 Comissioning Before connecting up the appliance again, it is necessary to purge the water and gas pipe work thoroughly, in order to remove filings and other waste material. Fit the appliances onto the plugs and tighten the screw to fix the appliance to the wall. Then connect the gas intake to the appliance, ensuring that the seal is in place.
