    Preface This manual supports servicing to the module level of the 1741C Waveform Monitor, which processes video signals for display on an internal XGA LCD. The instrument finds use as a monitor for broadcasting, production, and post-production environments. This manual explains how to troubleshoot and service the monitor to the module level.

  • Page 23 Theory of Operation The 1741C is an Analog Composite waveform monitor with four input channels. The monitor uses an internal XGA monitor for the display, and has an output to drive an external XGA monitor with the same display. It has outputs to drive serial digital and analog picture monitors.

    Download the PVCustomSignals.zip file, unzip it, and install the signals on your TG2000. Note that the 067-0465-00 (AVC1) is not available outside of Tektronix. Other equipment can be substituted but it might not have sufficient accuracy to guarantee the specifications. For hum insertion, a general-purpose sine wave generator can be used to terminate and drive back into the video signal through appropriate impedance matching.

    Use a glass cleaner to clean the LCD. For the rest of the instrument, use a 75% isopropyl alcohol solution as a cleaner and rinse with deionized water. Before using any other type of cleaner, consult your Tektronix Service Center or representative.
