To lock the phone, set a password. Click Lock.
To lock the keyboard when no password is set, on
the BlackBerry menu, click Lock. To unlock the
keyboard, press the Control Ring.
To use shortcut keys to open an application from
the BlackBerry menu, press the letter key that
corresponds with the application.
Searching
To search for text, on the BlackBerry menu, click
Search.Type the text. Set the search options. Press
Options, click Search.
To find a contact, on the BlackBerry menu, click
Search. Type the contact name or initials
separated by a space. Set the search options. Press
Options, click Search.
Options and fields
To select a check box, press the Space key. To clear
the check box, press the Space key again.
To change an option field, hold the Fn key. Click a
value.
To move to an item in a list or menu, type the first
letter of the item.
To clear a field, press Options. Click Clear Field.
Navigating screens
To move the cursor, press the Control Ring in the
appropriate direction.
To exit a screen or dialog box, press the End key.
To click an icon or menu item, press the right soft
key.
To select multiple items or characters, hold the
Shift key and the right soft key. Use the navigation
keys to select the multiple items or characters.
To move to the top of a screen, press T.
To move to the bottom of a screen, press B.
To move down a screen, press the Space key.
To move up a screen, press the Shift key + the
Space key.
To move to the next item, press N.
To move to the previous item, press P.
Typing
To capitalize a letter, hold the letter key until the
capitalized letter appears.
To type the alternate character on a key, press the
Fn key, then press the character key.
