Preliminary Remarks:

This blood pressure monitor complies with the
European regulations as contained in the law
governing medical products (CE), as well as to
the European Standard EN 1060 Part 1: »Non
invasive blood pressure instruments – General
requirements« and Part 2: »Additional require-
ments for mechanical blood pressure sy-
stems«.
Regular testing of the measuring system to be
carried out in accordance with national regula-
tions.
Important:
Avoid subjecting the unit to strong shocks (do
not knock it or let it drop) and keep it safe from
moisture and dirt.
Care has to be taken that the cuff does not be-
come punctured by sharp objects such as
needles or scissores.
Do not inflate to above 300 mmHg!
The
actual
measurement
exceed 2 minutes.
An interval of at least 2 minutes has to be allo-
wed between two measurements.
Cuffs:
Only use the prescribed boso cuffs with
their special connector.

Placing the Cuff:

Place the cuff in such a way that the lower cuff
edge lies about 2 – 3 cm above the elbow and
the centre of the rubber bag rests on the arteria
brachialis.
Taking the Blood Pressure:
Inflate the cuff to above the systolic pressure.
The first strong pumping action automatically
closes the pressure release valve.
By lightly pressing the button of the air release
valve the deflation speed can be finely adju-
sted.
The
World
Health
recommends a deflation speed of 2 – 3 mmHg
per second.
When the measurement is completed, firmly
press the air release button once more. This fully
opens the release valve to allow all the remaining
air to escape from the cuff.
