Fluids and lubricants identified below by name, part
number, or specification can be obtained from your
dealer/retailer.
Usage
Engine oil which meets Standard
GM6094M and displays the
Engine Oil American Petroleum Institute
(Except Certified for Gasoline Engines
6.0L V8 Engine) starburst symbol. To determine the
proper viscosity for your vehicle's
engine, see Engine Oil on page 5-18.
The engine requires a special engine
oil meeting Standard GM4718M.
Oils meeting this standard can be
identified as synthetic, and should
also be identified with the American
Engine Oil Petroleum Institute (API) Certified for

Only) However, not all synthetic API oils
with the starburst symbol will meet
this standard. Look for and use
only an oil that meets Standard
