Inspection- and Maintenance Instructions

Safety Instruction
Before carrying out inspection and maintenance works ensure the winch is unloaded.
Inspection Intervals
daily
quarterly
every 6 months
annually
every 2000 operating
hours or every 2 years

for example by Pfaff-silberblau service department.
The working life of the winch is limited, wearing parts have to be replaced in
good time.
Lubricant replacement - Oil level measurement

Visual examination of rope, hook (carrying device)
Function of the winch
Function of brake
Check and service rope for wear acc. to DIN 15020 page 2.
Check the fixing screws are tight.
Check worm gear and braking device for wear and function
Check the gear oil level
Check all parts of the winch for wear and, if necessary, replace and grease defect parts
Check Name-plate for legibility
Arrange for an examination by a competent person
Replace lubricant. Open the gear, remove the old lubricant refill new lubricant, seal the
housing and re-assemble the gear. Only by authorised personnel.
• remove oil dip stick (1)
• fill 20 - 25 cm³ gear oil SAE 80
• insert oil dip stick
• Check oil level (+ too much / ˘ too less oil)
1. DRUM BEARING
Lubricate every 5 operating hours, at least every 6 months or after longer
inactivity, before taking into operation. On site: Shell Alvania EP
2. DRUM TOOTHING AND GEARING
check oil level approx. every 6 months or acc. to range of application.
(+ too much / ˘ too less oil)
Rec.: gear oil SAE 80
