Start-Up
ADD OIL TO THE ENGINE BEFORE STARTING!
The oil level in the engine should be checked
every time you fill the gas tank to ensure top performance and
long engine life. See your engine owner's manual for the type and
amount of oil that must be added.
DO NOT ADD OIL TO THE PUMP! Your
pressure washer was shipped with the proper
amount of oil in the pump and does not require any additional
amount to be added. See owner's manual for further details.
1. Confirm that all components are properly connected to
pressure washer.
2. Turn on water supply.
3. Trigger gun until water sprays from the tip indicating that
all air is purged from the system.
4. Make sure that the engine fuel shut-off valve is in the
"Open" position (if applicable). On units equipped with
an ignition shutoff switch, put switch in the "On" position.
Adjust the engine throttle control to the "Choke" or
"Start" position (see engine owner's manual for details).
Prime the primer bulb on the engine 2-3 times (if
applicable).
5. While squeezing the gun trigger, pull the engine start cord
vigorously to start the engine. It is not necessary to
squeeze trigger on models equipped with the Pressure
Release System (PRS).
6. Once the engine is running, adjust the engine controls to
the "Run" position.
Operation
NOTE: Before you begin, test spray pattern in an
inconspicuous area to make sure you won't damage the
surface to be cleaned. This is also highly recommended when
using detergents with your pressure washer.
CONTROL THE CLEANING POWER OF YOUR PRESSURE
WASHER
You can control the cleaning power of your pressure washer
in two ways:
1. Adjust the spray pattern at the nozzle. Choose the widest
pattern possible for spraying when starting the job and
adjust the pattern to a narrower angle until you find a
suitable pattern.
2. The easiest way to regulate the cleaning power of your
pressure washer is by changing the distance from the
surface you are cleaning. Begin spraying with a wide fan
pattern while standing several feet from the surface.
Slowly move closer to the object you are cleaning,
adjusting the spray pattern as necessary, until you find the
most effective cleaning technique.
NOTE: Some units also may have a regulator knob on the
pump that can adjust the pressure (if so equipped).

APPLYING DETERGENT WITH YOUR PRESSURE WASHER
NOTE: To avoid possible damage to your pressure washer, we
recommend that you only use Campbell Hausfeld brand
pressure washer detergents.
Using detergents with your pressure washer can greatly
increase cleaning ability when tackling tough projects.
Follow the subsequent steps to make using detergent fast
and easy.
1. Connect the chemical suction tube included in your parts
pack to the pump. You will find a brass hose barb located
near the high pressure hose connection.
2. Insert the end of the chemical suction tube (with filter
attached) into the detergent container. Make sure that
the end of the chemical suction tube is fully submerged in
the detergent.
3. To apply detergent, your pressure washer must be
engaged in the "Low Pressure" spray setting. Applying
detergents under low pressure allows detergent adequate
time on cleaning surface to break down grease and grime.
DO NOT ALLOW DETERGENT TO DRY ON THE CLEANING
SURFACE.
• For models with a Variable or Adjustable Spray Wand –
Pull the end of the spray nozzle away from you until it
snaps into position then begin spraying. It may take a
moment for detergent to be siphoned into the pump.
To rinse, pull the spray nozzle back towards you until it
snaps into position then begin spraying.
• For models with Quick Connect Wand & Spray Tips -
Engage the trigger lock on the spray gun, pull back the
collar on the end of the spray wand to remove the
current spray tip and insert the black detergent
application spray tip. To rinse, simply reverse this
procedure to insert a different spray tip then begin
spraying.
NOTE: To decrease the chance of streaking on the surface
your are cleaning, it is recommended that you begin cleaning
from the bottom of the surface and work up. Use the same
procedure when rinsing off the detergent.
Shut-Down
1. Be sure all detergent is flushed from the system.
2. Turn off the engine. Turn the full shut-off valve to the
"Closed" position (if applicable).
3. Turn off water supply.
4. After engine and water supply are turned off, be sure to
trigger spray gun to depressurize pressure washer system.
NOTE: For long term storage and/or winterizing your
pressure washer, see your owner's manual.
