Power button board cable
Before removing the power button board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

NOTE:
The power button board sits under the right display hinge. You do not have to remove the display to
remove the board, but you do have to rotate the right display hinge upward to gain access.
1.
Remove the two Phillips M2.5×5.0 screws (1) that secure the right display hinge, and then rotate the
hinge upward from atop the power button board (2).
2.
Disconnect the cable from the ZIF connector on the power button board (3).
3.
Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw (4) that secures the power button board to the computer.
4.
Remove the power button board from the computer (5).
Reverse this procedure to install the power button board.
