If the levels are as good or better than the minimums, continue.
Note:
For Link Quality (CINR), as an example: 20 is better than 15.
For Signal Strength (RSSI), as an example: –50 is better than –60.
Levels Too Low
If the levels are too low:
a. Rescan for base stations and repeat the alignment procedure.
b. If the quality is still unacceptable, change the position of the ODU.
c. Rescan for base stations and repeat the alignment procedure.
d. If the quality is still unacceptable, direct the ODU along the line of site path of another base station.
e. Rescan for base stations and repeat the alignment and acceptance procedure.
f.
If the quality is still unacceptable, or there is only one base station, contact the Dealer Support Group:
1–866–841–6004.
RSSI Too High
Is the RSSI level better than –40? (As an example, –39 is better than –40.)
If yes, change the alignment so that the RSSI falls to –40 or slightly worse (for example, –41 or –42). This is
necessary to avoid receiver saturation. In most cases, tilting the ODU down resolves this situation. You can do
this by using the –15° position of the mounting kit.
Do not rotate the ODU to the side to reduce RSSI as this can cause interference with neighbouring base
stations or CPE.
Once you have acceptable levels, refer to the WiMAX Customer Premise Equipment Installation course or
guide for instructions on activating the service.
