- Page 2 Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Introduction Thank you for selecting the Bante 220 portable pH meter. This manual provides a step-by-step guide to help you operate the meter, please carefully read the following instructions before use. Unpacking Before unpacking, ensure that the current work environment meets following conditions.
- Page 3 Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Display The 220 meter is equipped with an easy-read LCD display that used to show the measured values and mode icons. The following table describes the function of each icon. INDEX: Measurement mode icon: Low battery alarm: Indicates the meter is in the measurement mode.

Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Installing the Batteries Remove the battery cover from backside of the meter. ● Insert three AA batteries into the battery compartment, note polarity. ● Replace the battery cover into its original position. Installation is completed. -

Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Prior to Use Remove the protective cap from the bottom of the electrode. pH electrode: If the glass sensitive membrane has dried out, soak the electrode in 3M KCL solution (pH adjusted to 4.0) for at least 30 minutes. -

Page 8: Automatic Temperature Compensation
Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Temperature Compensation In order to get accurate measuring results, we recommend that using a temperature probe for the calibration and measurements. Automatic temperature compensation Connect the temperature probe to the meter (Refer to page 4 “Connecting the Sensors”). The ATC icon immediately appears on the display, the meter is now switched to the automatic temperature compensation mode. -
Page 9: Single Point Calibration
Calibration The 220 portable pH meter allows 1 to 3 points calibration in the pH mode. We recommend that you perform at least 2 points calibration for high accuracy measurement. The meter will automatically recognize and calibrate to following standard buffer values. -
Page 10: Multi-Point Calibration
Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Multi-point calibration Ensure that you have selected 2 or 3 points calibration in the setup menu. Repeat the steps 1.2 to 1.3 above. When the first calibration point is completed, the display will show CAL2. The meter prompts you to continue with second point calibration. -

Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Viewing the calibration report 3.1 Press the key in the measurement mode, the meter shows LOC/P-1. 3.2 Press the or key until the display shows ELE/P-2, press the key. The meter shows Enter the zero-point offset (e.g., 0.5mV). -

Auto-Hold The 220 meter contains an Auto-Hold function. If enabled, the meter will automatically sense a stable reading and lock the measurements, the HOLD icon appears on the display. If disabled, press the key, the meter will immediately lock the displayed value. -
Page 13: Storing And Recalling Data
Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Storing and Recalling Data The meter is capable of storing and recalling up to 100 data sets. Storing readings into memory During the measurement process, press the key to store the reading into the memory, the Memory icon appears on the display. -

Bante 220 Portable pH Meter Electrode Care and Maintenance pH electrode Since pH electrode is susceptible to dirt and contamination, clean as necessary depending on the extent and condition of use. After measuring: rinse the electrode in distilled water, store the electrode into the 3M KCL solution. -

If this electrode can not meet your measurement requirements, please refer to the table below to select an applicable probe.
